These terms are an agreement between you and Do The Thing LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (“we”, “us”), the company that operates Unpleat. They cover your use of the Unpleat website, dashboard, Chrome extension, live tour script, share links and help centers (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully: by creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Unpleat

Unpleat is a business tool. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.

2. The Service

Unpleat lets you record a task in a web application with our Chrome extension and turn it into a narrated video, a step-by-step guide and an interactive tour that runs inside your website, which you can publish through share links and a help center. We are continually improving the Service, so features may change over time. Features marked as beta, preview or “coming soon” may be incomplete or change, and are provided as they are.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
  • Keep your password and your extension keys secure, and don’t share your sign-in with others. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Tell us right away at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Plans, fees and cancellation

  • Free plan: available with the limits shown on our pricing page. We may change the free plan’s limits or end it, with reasonable notice.
  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment provider, and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Plan & billing; your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Refunds: fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or we decide to make an exception.
  • Price changes: we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before a price change applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Taxes: prices don’t include taxes unless stated. You are responsible for applicable taxes, which we may collect where required.
  • Usage limits: each plan includes limits, such as the number of published tutorials and premium voice minutes. Premium voice minutes reset on the 1st of each month and don’t carry over. If you exceed a limit or move to a smaller plan, some features may stop until you’re within your limits again. We won’t delete your content because of it.

5. Your content

“Your Content” means everything you record, upload or create in the Service, including recordings, screenshots, captions, voiceover text, generated audio and help center content.

  • You own Your Content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, adapt (for example, generate videos, guides and audio) and display it, only as needed to provide and support the Service for you, and to publish it where you choose to publish it.
  • Publishing is your choice. Anyone with a share link, and anyone visiting a help center or a website where you’ve installed a live tour, can see what you publish there. Keep tutorials as drafts if they shouldn’t be seen.
  • You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to record it and publish it, including for any personal information, trademarks or third-party material it contains, and for the websites and applications you record.
  • Personal information in recordings: where Your Content includes personal information about others, our Data Processing Addendum applies, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break any law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • record or publish information you don’t have the right to, such as other people’s confidential or sensitive personal data, payment card details or health information;
  • publish content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or violent;
  • impersonate any person or organization, including by using synthetic voices to imitate a real person;
  • distribute malware, phishing or spam, or misuse our tour script on websites you don’t control;
  • probe, overload or interfere with the Service or other users, or get around its limits or security;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product.

7. Live tours on your website

To show live tours, you add our script to your website. You are responsible for your website and for informing your visitors as your own policies and the law require. The script runs tours you publish and keeps its progress in the visitor’s browser, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Automatic voiceovers and voices

  • Unpleat can write captions and voiceover text automatically and read them aloud with synthetic voices. Automatically generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete, so review it before you publish. You are responsible for what you publish.
  • Premium voices are provided through a third-party voice provider. You may use the audio generated for your tutorials as part of those tutorials. Specific voices may change or become unavailable.

9. The Chrome extension

The Unpleat Recorder extension records only when you start a recording, and only the tab you are recording. It needs access to the websites you record in order to work. You can disconnect devices in the dashboard and remove the extension at any time.

10. Our property and feedback

The Service, including its software, design, voices we provide and the Unpleat name and logos, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the Service as described, not ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

The Service works with third-party services, such as Google sign-in, our payment provider and our voice provider. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for them.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if needed to protect the Service or others, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
  • When an account is closed, published links, help centers and live tours stop working. You can ask us for a copy of Your Content within 30 days of closure; after that, we delete it as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue (such as Your Content, our property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) survive termination.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Unpleat reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recordings will capture or replay every website perfectly.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill; and (b) our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100. These limits don’t apply where the law does not allow them to.

15. Indemnity

If a third party makes a claim against us because of Your Content or your breach of these terms, you agree to defend and indemnify us against it, including reasonable legal fees, as far as the law allows.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Mexico, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For significant changes, we’ll notify you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop using the Service and close your account.

18. General

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, the Data Processing Addendum and any order or plan details, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. We may send you notices by email or in the Service.
